There are all sorts of ways you can raise money to support St. John's. For instance, you can enter a Moustache contest such as the one Romano Nickerson entered... and won! He raised almost $1,000 for St. John's Shelter!
The work we do with homeless women and their children is nothing short of miraculous, and we could not do it without the support of our donors and volunteers. Click here to see a list of our 2007 donors.
We are also grateful to collaborative partners who assist us in providing our clients with the services they need to become self-sufficient. The Effort provides on-site mental health counselors and alcohol and drug counselors. The Sacramento County Office of Education provides us with an on-site counselor who places our children in school and monitors their academic progress. Sacramento State provides us with career counseling services for our women, as well as with dozens of interns. The Sacramento County Public Health Department provides us with a Nurse who is on-site with us two days each week. Agencies including Breaking Barriers, Weave, Sacramento Area Housing, Loaves and Fishes, Francis House, Mary House and the Salvation Army all serve as additional resources for our residents, and we are grateful to have them as partners.
St. John's is always interested in collaborating with other agencies to provide ongoing or new services to our women and children. Please contact St. John's Shelter Program at (916) 453-1482 for more information.
